The Value of Adventure

People often ask me why I travel so damn much. The truth is, there are a variety of reasons why I travel. Sometimes I travel for projects. Sometimes I travel for clients. Sometimes I travel for speaking gigs or workshops. But most of the time, I travel for me. I travel because I learn more about myself through adventure than anything else.

I don’t travel to be comfortable, I travel to ensure I never am.

Some people that know me very well still misunderstand this. They think I spend 70% of the year on vacation. The truth is, I don’t like vacations. For me travel isn’t about holiday, it’s not about escape, it’s about adventure. I believe that in life there is no greater test of the human spirit than beginning a story without knowing how its going to end. And a great adventure is always just that.
