Tracy and her friend, photographer Rico D. Cancio, teamed up for a Vancouver event of artful giving. She titled this Wine Social & Charity Art Auction "The Art of Building a Windmill in Africa." More than 65 people gathered in downtown Vancouver for the event, at which some of Rico's prints were up for silent auction, as was a painting of a windmill that had been painted live at the event (by the talented Firebird Live Art team). At the event, there were also chances for attendees to buy raffle tickets for additional giveaways. Plus, one of Rico's gorgeous 20" x 30" was raffled off and another one continued as an online raffle, as part of the "Art of Building a Windmill Online After Party." A number of other talented Vancouver artists also contributed work for the night's many fabulous door prizes, including the incredibly talented Mandy Tsung and Choplogik.org's Russell Alton. Not including the auctioned and raffled art, over $1000 of swag from generous sponsors (including a luxury hotel stay in Whistler, Canada) was given away as door prizes! To keep their guests happy while they mingled and sipped wine, Tracy and Rico partnered with Vancouver's amazing Sciue Italian Bakery Caffe to provide fresh, handcrafted Roman-style pizzas.
Tracy and Rico are very excited to be donating the proceeds of this event -- which amounts to roughly $1493 USD -- to GHNI as part of the Good Misfit project!
